It all started on a cold night in Iowa. Barack Obama will win the democratic nomination for president of the United States tonight, with the world watching this historic day. I am so proud to be witnessing this nomination.
At my caucus, it was apparent that there was a movement afoot. I had never seen such enthusiatic young supporters, sitting quietly while the more experienced guided them through the process of registering their support for the statuesque senator with the funny name. Never before had I witnessed the goodwill of so many people, coming together to assure that our great country got back its good name.
Now that our long nomination road is coming to an end, I appeal to my fellow democrats. Let's get back that spirit of unity that we all felt that January night. It's only a few short months until our national nightmare is over.
