Obama, in his effort to bolster his patriotic image among voters, has been very eager lately to talk about his family's connection to World War II. Only, he made a minor gaffe by naming the wrong concentration camp.
Instead of correctly identifying the concentration camp that his great uncle helped to liberate as Buchenwald, which is in Germany, he incorrectly named the camp as Auschwitz, which the Soviet Army liberated in Poland.
The RNC has jumped all over this as proof of Obama's lack of world history knowledge. To this, I would say...if history serves me correctly, U.S. invasion of other countries has not been a great strategy for the United States, but our leaders continue to ignore this and invade anyway.
To Obama's goof up, I say, so what. The guy said the wrong name. Big deal.
