Clinton Assasinates Any Hope of Leaving the Race in a Dignified Manner

Hillary_pointingWhoa. I have never heard Hillary Clinton make such a gaffe.

In an editorial board meeting with staff at the Sioux Falls Argus Leader that she is staying in the race until June. One of the reasons, logically enough, was that her husband did not receive the nomination in 1992 until after the June California primary. I follow her on that point.

Then, she adds that Robert Kennedy was killed on the campaign trail in June of 1968.

Backpeddling today, she said that she meant no offense, and that the Kennedy clan was on her mind due to the recent Ted Kennedy brain cancer diagnosis.

I have no idea what she believes, but just by saying that, she exposes the fact that her campaign advisers and Sen. Clinton had actually discussed it as a possibility. That is just unspeakable. If I were her, I would have used a much more direct apology. That really damaged her credibility.

Though I would agree that saying it was politically dumb and shows bad form. I don't quite follow your logic on she and her staff discussing it. I doubt it was an in depth discussion, if it was brought up at all, but when brainstorming possibilities of events, few would not remember it and the objective of brainstorming is to throw out every thought.

Only the most vehement of Hillary haters could believe that she is biding time waiting for something bad to happen to Obama, beyond another Rev. Wright fiasco.

Clinton has absolutely no credibility. A candidate who wants to be president so bad that they are actually staying in the race just in case the other guy gets killed does not deserve to be elected to any office. Add to this that Clinton took a 40 million dollar campaign surplus and turned it into a 30 million dollar deficit should leave no doubt about her ability to lead this country.

anon:

Quite the contrary. Your riches to rags scenario would seem to make her especially suited for running this country if recent history is any guide. She would be following in the footsteps of Reagan and Bush II.

Anon: You'd have a really hard time convincing me that Clinton would have difficulty leading this country out of the fiscal crisis we're in.
