Hillary Clinton is backed into a corner.
She was wrong on the war and she's damned if she admits it and damned if she doesn't. She's not Barack Obama, which makes her some sort of pathetic has-been. I am amazed at the audacity and vehemence of the attacks against her.
I have never seen such a fall from grace.
Hillary was hailed as a hero here in Des Moines whenever she would appear on behalf of candidates. She drew huge crowds during the caucus cycle. Every word from her lips was perfectly choreographed and coordinated with a flawless campaign. She was the spiritual leader of a democratic party, finding its voice after a long walk through the wilderness with George W. Bush presidency.
Hillary is "taking fire" for her depiction of a trip she took to Bosnia when she was First Lady. I have never seen a public official's account of an event so savagely picked apart.
After this bloody battle for the democratic nomination comes to an end, I hope Hillary's detractors come to their senses and realize that tearing Hillary down is not the same as building Obama up.
