Bill Richardson is dropping out of the democratic presidential race. It was political reality that he could not stay in much longer after fourth place showings in both Iowa and New Hampshire.
I feel like his candidacy meant something, even if the only reason was for us to get to know him better. The country was privileged to get to know the statesman from New Mexico. His extraordinary service to our country and special skills as a negotiator would make him a great Secretary of State in the 2008 administration, no matter who the new president is.
I hope he stays involved and campaigns for the eventual nominee.
