The recent mass exodus of staffers from the Bush White House is telling in many ways. As any good political operative knows, when the ship is sinking, you can be sucked down with it, so you'd better bail out before it goes under.
Many of these politicos have been with Bush for many years, some dating back to his days as Texas governor. Others, like Meghan O'Sullivan are more recent additions. O'Sullivan's claim to fame is operative in Bush's failed Iraq and Afghanistan policies. Her task unfinished, and some would say the largest overall failure in the war strategy, she still dreams of Iraq. I'm guessing those dreams would be the closest thing you can get to nightmares.
Why would a smart woman like O'Sullivan get herself messed up with thugs like Bush and Rumsfeld, you might wonder? Two words: Brookings Institution. She is a trained NeoCon. Just like her cohort Condi Rice, she is the rare woman in the hawkish world and alternative reality of the Bush Administration.
