John Kerry stood up for a freak at a University of Florida appearance yesterday. This guy was belligerent, combative and spoke out of turn. He did not deserve the attention and patience he got from Kerry and the police/ I don't blame them at all for taking control of the situation. His anger was rising and I'm sure they hadn't done a metal detector search. They probably thought that he was angry enough to pull a gun. Behavior like that is unacceptable in a public setting.
A Daily Kos reader was an eye witeness. Here is that account.

My wife and I talked quite a bit about this yesterday. We came to the consensus that, while Meyer was certainly being disruptive and deserved to be ejected, the police also should have handled that situation with more care. They also probably did not need to tase the guy. Unfortunately for them, Meyer will now probably get exactly what he wanted and a lot more - attention. Should have just led him away quietly and quickly.
