The resignation of Alberto Gonzales has finally been tendered, a day late and a dollar short. I've written about the sad state of the U.S. Justice Department before, and the post that sticks out to me the most is the one about the time Gonzales visited then-attorney general John Ashcroft, who was in the hospital recovering from serious surgery.
I think it says a lot about his character, or in this case, the lack thereof.
The fact that he was allowed to remain in office, even after his lies had been exposed by numerous sources, on numerous issues, is a testament to George W. Bush. He puts his cronies ahead of his country. And that's a bad way to govern.
Gonzales is the poster boy for the "administration gone amuck." Good riddance.
