Democratic and Liberal political analysis and commentary

Fred Thompson is supposedly jumping in to the republican presidential nomination process soon. My friend over at  Elephant Biz is in love with the guy, so I decided to make a list of Fred Thompson's Top Ten Problems to provide a balanced perspective.

1. He is old. At age 65 (he'll be 66 in August), he is entering the political dead zone.
2. Speaking of old, he shares his August 19 birthday with Bill Clinton. That can't be good karma for him.
3. Fred's wife, pictured here, is 24 years his junior. Can you say "trophy wife?"
4. Fred's wife is running his campaign. That never works!
5. Fred used to lobby for the abortion rights group the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association.
6. Fred is lazy. During his time in the senate, he didn't really DO anything!We've seen how the lack of intellectual curiousity can kill our country (George W. Bush)
7. Fred is NOT the good ol' boy from Tennesee that he would have you believe he is.
8. Fred was a lobbyist for Equitas, a company that paid Fred more that 750 k to lobby on behalf of reduced payouts for asbestos-related claims due to criminal negligence.
9. "I knew Ronald Reagan, Senator, and believe me, you are no Ronald Reagan." Trying to compare Fred Thompson to Ronald Reagan, as every good conservative will try to do, is a losing battle.
10. He is an actor. Need I say more?
