On Thursday, our Washington D.C. Forum group visited the office of NDN. NDN is a national network of citizens using modern means to advance a 21st century progressive vision for America. NDN and its community work with a wide range of allied groups to build a strong and vibrant progressive politics capable of meeting the challenges ahead.
In other words, they are figuring out now how to win future elections by using technology, and also figuring out the best way to clean up the mess that modern conservatives have made out of our country and our world.
I think people like my elephantic counterpart at Elephant Biz truly believe that democrats are still asleep at the wheel, sitting in the corner sucking our thumbs while George Bush ruins our country.
After meeting some incredible people in our nation's capitol this week, rest assured, we are well on our way to a new democratic era. The "new era" of conservatism, which thank god only lasted since Reagan's election in 1980 until the ass-kicking of 2006, is now on its way out of town.
Alixandria Weise, the executive director of NDN, gave us a fascinating presentation on new media, how democrats totally dominate the category, and how this fact will be the force behind years of democratic victories.
This is the same presentation that NDN will be giving at Yearly Kos in August. All of you who plan to attend are in for a treat. Take a tape recorder and take heart. There are smart people out there who will help the netroots get its message out to the masses.
