Another fun couple of days in D.C.! I really enjoy getting on the Metro trains and zipping around the city without having to hassle with parking.
Yesterday, we meet with our wise and kind Congressman Leonard Boswell, and Senator Hillary Clinton, who hosted us in her Russell Building Senate Office. The Russell Building is one of those places that truly have hallways as long as football fields, and that is just one side of it! It is very ornate with high ceilings and offices that make you feel as though you're stepping back in time.
Today, we had a great meeting with Senator Christopher Dodd, who is campaigning hard in Iowa. He told us today that he has 40 staffers in seven offices on the ground just in Iowa. Senator Dodd showed us around his senate office, once inhabited by his father, Senator Thomas Dodd. With obvious pride, he pointed out the collections of photos, signing pens and memorabilia from legislative victories. There was also the golf score card of when he played against then President Clinton. Sen. Dodd let him win by a couple of strokes... :~)
We also made it to an exciting Washington Nationals baseball game last night. They pulled out a ninth inning victory against the Colorado Rockies in the last possible moment.
