The International Association of Firefighters spent $70,000 to produce a video chronicling what they believe to be Rudy Giuliani's real legacy after 911. The video, which has been posted on YouTube to increase its visibility, contends that Giuliani was more concerned about securing $200 million in gold in the basement of the World Trade Center than in recovering the bodies of firefighters from the site of the disaster.
The union typically supports democrats in their official endorsements and gave its blessing to John Kerry last time around.
The assertions made in the video include blaming Giuliani's mismanagement of the communications systems that failed on 911. It includes testimonials from firefighters and from the families of those who lost their lives that day.
In Giuliani's visits across the country, and especially in Iowa, you'd never know he had any problems with firefighters. He continually goes out of his way to mention them in his speeches and has a few prominent members of the NYC fire department out stumping for him.
