Al Gore's only son, Al III, was arrested after driving his Toyota Prius at more than 100 miles per hour on a California freeway. At age 24, he is well beyond the reach of Al and Tipper Gore as far as grounding him or taking his car away. Police also found marijuana, Valium and Vicodin and another drug in the car after smelling the strong odor of pot in the car.
I'm sad that the young Mr. Gore is making such bad decisions so far into his twenties. I hope he is court-ordered to complete the drug treatment that he obviously needs. I'm sure his parents will support him no matter what he does, but my heart goes out to them. Every parent knows that a child's actions don't necessarily reflect how they were raised.
One footnote: Who knew that Toyota's Prius was so fast? I wonder if it gets good gas mileage at that speed.
