
I'm anxiously waiting for the G8 countries to keep their promises on Darfur made last week in Germany. In the Save Darfur blog, and others like it, activists are taking matters into their own hands, rather than waiting for politicians to act.
The U.S and its allies have been pressuring Sudan to accept an UN/African union force on the ground near the refugee camps, but so far Sudan has not allowed any peacekeepers to help stem the killing. More than 200,000 have been killed and the survivors are raped and killed while gathering firewood near the camps.
After the Rwandan genocide, the world said "never again." It looks as though the world has a very short memory.
The good people of the world are not forgetting about the people of Sudan, but they can't go in there and save them either.
