I am watching the debate in New Hampshire. So far, what impresses me is the depth and breadth of experience represented by the people sitting on the stage. It is so refreshing to hear the spirited and thoughtful answers being given.
After six and a half years of the smirking, sassy and stupid remarks from our current president, I find myself longing for a more meaningful dialogue. I think America is suffering from the lack of such a dialogue.
I'll predict it here and now. The next president will be a democrat not because they are the "anti-Bush," but because the democrats have more ideas, more credibility and more moral authority.
Bush and his ilk have taken the good will of the world and wasted it. He has taken our domestic prosperity and ruined it. He has sat idle on important issues like global warming and Latin American relations.
The voters aren't going to take another chance on a puppet president, controlled by the same tired group of conservative hawks with no vision for the future.
Whoever the nominee ends up being, I will support them wholeheartedly because the future of this country is at stake. These candidates are a great example of how deep the democratic leadership bench is.
